Concept Engineering and Vtool Team Up to Deliver a Unique, Next-Generation Debug Solution
Two Leading EDA Data Visualization Companies Combine Technologies to Address the Widening Debug Gap for Block and SoC Designs
Freiburg, Germany – March 24, 2022 – Vtool Smart Verification and Concept Engineering today announced a partnership to deliver a unique EDA visualization solution for the semiconductor industry by connecting their advanced technologies Cogita™ and StarVision PRO™/RTLvision PRO™, creating a next-generation, unified Application Specific Integration Circuit (ASIC) and System on Chip (SoC) debug solution.
Cogita is a visual verification debug tool enabling the easy navigation and manipulation of big log files generated during the verification process. It leverages machine learning algorithms to classify data to provide conclusions and insights, while supporting the sharing of information across the team and throughout the project lifecycle.
StarVision PRO/RTLvision PRO is an integrated debugging cockpit for mixed-signal and digital design that makes analysis and debugging of complex SoC and ASIC designs more transparent given advanced visualization technologies.
Combining these approaches enables the simultaneous and seamless debug of both design and testbench code. The single, integrated solution allows engineers to quickly navigate from advanced log file displays to capable waveform analysis tools and vice versa, with the ability to simultaneously focus on the status of the design and verification environment at any time-point. This makes root cause error analysis far more efficient than previously possible.
“We have been working together with Concept Engineering to combine the advanced visualization capabilities of our Cogita technology with Concept Engineering's broadly used RTLvision PRO and StarVision PRO to solve the increasing challenges of chip design complexities,” said Hagai Arbel, CEO, Vtool Smart Verification. “We are proud to have established this unique synergy that will shorten debug cycles, a significant component of chip development today, while increasing the confidence of first-time-right silicon.”
“While debug remains a major time sink in semiconductor development cycles, there has been little change in the solutions used for this task in many years,” noted Gerhard Angst, Concept Engineering's CEO. “Both of our companies have produced highly effective visualization technologies that, when combined, will refresh the way we debug the next generation of semiconductors going forward.”
