Concept Engineering's Schematic Viewing Technology Adopted By Emerging Synthesis Vendors
June 6, 1997 – Freiburg, Germany – Concept Engineering GmbH, a leading supplier of schematic viewing and schematic generation technology, today announced that it has signed cooperative agreements with two rapidly emerging synthesis tool vendors, ACEO Technology and Ambit Design Systems. ACEO and Ambit will both use Concept Engineering's viewing technology in their latest product offerings. First product demonstrations will be given at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Anaheim, Calif., June 9-12.
"We are pleased to provide schematic viewing solutions for ACEO and Ambit," said Gerhard Angst, president and CEO of Concept Engineering. "We are committed to providing comprehensive design viewing solutions for the electronic design community. Working with ACEO and Ambit will allow us to provide designers with innovative synthesis technology for high-end digital design."
"Ease of learning and ease of use are important criteria when evaluating real synthesis tools today," said Alan Feinberg, vice president of sales and marketing for ACEO Technology. "Engineers need to be able to interact with their tools using familiar and universal protocol such as schematics. We investigated several schematic viewers, and found that Concept Engineering's tool provided the best solution for our customers' needs on both Unix and Windows NT."
"High-end design requires a very detailed amount of synthesis results analysis," said Venktesh Shukla, vice president of marketing at Ambit. "We chose to integrate Concept Engineering's schematic viewer with BuildGates because it offers synthesis users a fast, easy method to ensure that they are meeting their timing and area requirements."
Concept Engineering already provides schematic viewing technology for recognized EDA tool leaders including Exemplar Logic, ISDATA GmbH (Germany), and Zycad (ATTEST).
"Exemplar has been using the Concept Engineering schematic viewing technology for the past two years," said Robert Barker, Exemplar vice president of marketing. "According to customers, being able see their synthesis output in schematic form helps them understand how their design has changed and how they can further optimize the design. In addition, it gives them insight into the effectiveness of their hardware description language style."
