Concept Engineering receives research funding from German Smart System Engineering (SSE) Initiative

February 8, 1999 – Freiburg, Germany – Concept Engineering GmbH has been selected by the German Government to participate in a three-year "Smart System Engineering" (SSE) initiative. SSE, created to fund research into the design of complex systems on chip, selected only 46 companies, research institutes and universities. Other companies include Siemens AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Cadence Design Systems GmbH and Synopsys GmbH.

Concept will contribute its expertise in design data visualization technology to ABS, the application-specific system design project of the SSE initiative. The company's engineers will develop visualization technology for all levels of design, including system, behavioral, and gate-level. Concept has received funding for three person-years of research support fees, beginning in Q4/1997 and extending through Q4/2000. ABS is funded by the German Ministry of Education, Research and Technology (BMBF; grant no. 01-M-3035-D).
